Bunny hideout found!!!

No… sorry guys, I didn’t stumble upon Hef’s hidden playground! If cute isn’t your bag, quit reading now!
I stumbled upon a nest of newborn baby bunnies while cutting the lawn down on the back 40 down at the river. The grass was about knee high and I was going slow and the blade was high so it wouldn’t bog down. Luckyfor that because after passing over an area next to a bush, I looked back and saw a lump of fur. Now I’ll be the first one to admit, I’m no hunter! I couldn’t bring myself to hurt any animal. So when I saw this fur, my heart dropped. I thought I had run over a rabbit or something. I stopped the tractor and went to where the fur was and lo and behold, it was still moving!!!
Now I really felt bad as I thought I had wounded the poor thing!. I picked through the fur and much to my surprise it was a nest of 3 baby bunnies. Even better, they were all alive and fine! I’ve never seen a nest of baby bunnies so I thought I’d share this with you. I ran and got my camera and took this video. I then covered them back up with the fur and some leaves. Now I’m hoping the mother comes back.
I don’t recall seeing her anywhere while I was cutting the grass. I know I didn’t run over her. I’m sure she took off before I started cutting as my 2 dogs were in the area. Hopefully she’ll come back tonight.
I’ll be checking on them in a couple of days. I don’t know what I’m going to do if she doesn’t come back. I guess my wife and I will have to figure that one out if it happens. Here’s hoping for the best.
