This little piggy cried wolf!

The end of the world came and we missed it right? Does it seem that there was a bit of an over reaction to the recent crisis du jour? I for one am glad that it apparently was a bit over blown, but there is a bit of a down side to this. The next time someone cries crisis, who’s going to listen?

I’m not sure if this really was a crisis in the making or if we really did dodge an actual bullet. Was it just media hype? Why were governments around the world reacting so strongly to it? Did they fall for media hype also? It’s a bit odd that last week the world was about to shut borders, kill pigs, quarantine populations and cancel events in an effort to isolate and stop this, “killer virus”! Now today, it’s the joke of late night comics.

I’m not sure we’ll ever find out, but sadly, the next time we hear of an impending doomsday scenario, we’ll probably shrug our shoulders and say, “hmmmm… that’s interesting (yawn)… now what channel is Dancing with the Stars on again”?

Perhaps we are just in the eye of the viral hurricane! Perhaps, doomsday is still coming, but according to the media now, an all clear signal has been sounded. I’m not sure what to believe anymore or who to trust. I guess it’s just goes back to using one’s better judgement. What’s the worse that can happen if you’re wrong, the apocalypse will come and you might miss it?
