Like Elmer Fudd hunting for his, “pesky wabbit”, I’ve been hunting Poison Ivy for the last couple of years. Ever since we purchased a small place in the woods, I’ve become almost obsessed with getting rid of  my “pesky weed”!

I first discovered that our small slice of heaven in the woods was infested with poison ivy when a friend came by to see our place. Having grown up in the country, she was well versed in knowing how to identify poison ivy. Unfortunately, she wasn’t around when I ran into my first encounter with this dreaded weed.

After several weeks of going through unbearable itching, I vowed to get rid of every single weed I could find. Little did I know that this stuff was so proliferous.

Since then, I have killed hundreds of plants including some old growth vines that had completely taken over the crown of trees and were sowing their seeds in wide swaths under the canopy of the tree.  But each year, I keep finding more.  So just like a hunter gets ready for hunting season each year, every spring, I start to get my gear together to do battle.
